Owing to the comparatively low number of secondary schools in Akpabuyo and Bakassi, these two LGAs are merged and jointly allocated one slot at the Local Government Qualifiers stage.

The SAEAC Grand Trophy, an ICT/CBT Centre for the winning school's Local Government Area, cash awards and laptops for finalists, and recognition for the teachers who prepared them.

The SAEAC Academic Central Planning Committee convened a Strategic Stakeholders' Meeting with principals of secondary schools from across Cross River South, to present the Championship Framework and Operational Guidelines and secure their cooperation ahead of roll-out.
